First year teachers: How much does it cost to set up and decorate your classroom?
Q: I'm talking about all the things you need to teach elementary school. Posters, pocket charts, handling, books, etc. There are so many little things like the alphabet you have to set up the day of the week, months, colors, etc.
A: No need to worry much about it. Each school has a budget for it. Structuring room is essential for teachers to award the school budget on this. However, if you have personal pet you want to use in the classroom and you think it's really needed is your option to buy it or not.

It should not cost anything. Your school should have a supply of many of these and also provide a budget for you to buy them. If not, you might want to leave this school as soon as possible! Do not fall into the trap of buying things for your work yourself - it's a difficult task without support from the school system.
Whats are some effective ways of teaching a five year old girl the Alphabet and Numbers?
Q: Yesterday, i was asked by a co-worker if i would want to help her daughter learn the alphabet and numbers. I have had experience with a lot of older age groups, but i do not know if the ideas i came up with are appropriate for a five year old.

Pour some cornmeal or sand onto a cookie sheet. Practice making the letters or numbers in the sand.
The number sticker book idea is a good one. She can take that home to her parents and be proud of her accomplishment. Cut some construction paper into halves
