Children are not what they were. They tweet and blog and text without blinking. Whenever they need the answer to a question, they simply connect their phone and watch it on Google. They live in a state of perpetual distraction to the endless and, for many parents and educators, it is a real cause for concern. Future generations will be able to finish an entire book? Will they be able to sit in an entire movie without checking their phones? Are we raising a generation of kids excited?
According to Cathy N.Davidson, professor of interdisciplinary studies at Duke University, and author of new book "Now You See It: How Brain Science will turn attention to how to live, work and learn," much of panic about children's attention spans shortened is not only wrong, it is harmful.
