WHAT DO YOU THINK OF MY SHORT STORY?

Q: WHAT DO YOU THINK OF MY SHORT STORY?
My sneakers thrown against the sidewalk hot. It had rained the night before and the smell of dust floating in the humidity of late summer.

A: Well, the story was interesting, but you have a bit of a problem. You are totally exaggerated descriptions. Everything is too waaaaaaaaaaaay described. Examples:

There’s a definite and charming personality to, say, the one at the Arboretum here in Austin. It’s both cozy and expansive, busy and yet not smothering. The atmosphere just seems more “booky” and inviting. Borders stores weren’t unpleasant, just a lot more non-descript.
